our dear friends and the city of Melbourne

Kirstie and I are heading off to the beautiful city of Melbourne on Monday for a week of catching up with one of my dearest friends in the world (she lives in the sweet town of Monbulk) and her gorgeous family and then spending a couple of days exploring Melbourne...  So my friends we are staying on Collins street while in the city so if there is anything that is a must see please let me know... Kirstie only has a week till she is back at uni so we will definitely make the most of it....

Summer Storms.....

Fairly quiet day in my little cottage today.  Kirstie is at the coast and my hubby is in flood affected areas of Roma and Mitchell organising volunteer teams to this devastated area.....We had two storm fronts come our way this afternoon but fortunately they both by-passed us as this one looked rather nasty....I must say nature can be incredibly beautiful even just before it causes such harm....

My beautiful girl - new beginnings ......

Well today will be Kirstie's last day at her favourite part-time job at a gorgeous little lolly shop called SO SWEET!!!!  The business has been sold and is moving.... She has loved every aspect of this job from the gorgeous owner to all the wonderful little children that she would see every week.... She will start back at uni in a few weeks and has a few shifts at her favourite coffee shop but as you all know she loves to be creative and she loves children so she was thinking recently that she would like to do something that could bring her a little pocket money but also do something worthwhile... She has always wanted to sponsor a child through the organisation Compassion so what she is thinking is that she could do some art, make it into stationary, jewellery etc and each piece a certain amount would go to Compassion....  This is only in early stages but I would love to hear your thoughts....?????? Just about to go and do a little baking as it is one of those sorts of days but I was cleaning up my atelier so I thought I would take a few pics... Happy creating, enjoying an art course, doing a little paper work all the fun things I get up to in here......:)

A little clean up and move around ....."the kitchen"

Just having a bit of a clean up and play around in my kitchen.....The timber makes it quiet dark but it does have a lot of character.... I have a large blackboard that I put different quotes or sometimes recipes on....

and I moved our large stainless steel refrigerator so the other photo is the nook that was left and has my bread maker, flours etc....  Beautiful  Sunday lunch at one of our favourite coffee shops with my gorgeous family and Kirstie's lovely young man David.....

It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.  

The light is what guides you home, the warmth is what keeps you there. 

Daydreaming about the beach......

Every time I return to the coast I feel a little bit more at peace...I am not sure whether this is a very familiar place from my childhood of day trips to the coast with my family but there is a deep connection.... Where we stayed at Christmas I would walk about 5 km to this corner of the beach to watch all the surfers looking so free on their boards....This is definitely my happy place .......

doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness......
