In the midst of winter

In the midst of a very cold winter here in my little part of Australia, I can't believe how beautiful the roses look... I am a terrible gardener and I am constantly killing things but my front garden is fairly pretty... Lavender hedge in full flower as well at the moment... These pink roses were nearly totally dead from the drought about 6 weeks ago but we have had a little winter rain and they are so happy now... These come from cuttings my mum got from my Nan's garden so they are very special to me...

Your roses are beautiful Cathy, how special to have them from your Nan's garden. I am new to roses and thought they should be pruned now - mine are covered in buds and can't quite come at pruning!!

dear Cathy,

To have such pretty roses gowing and blooming in the middle of winter is quite a feather in your cap.
I'm quite sure that your Nan would be so proud of you and your garden.
