Monday morning - my scrapbooks part 2

Well a few more pages of one of my scrapbooks...My favourite textures of linen!!!

Today it has been so hard to concentrate on blogging about my home as it just seems trivial!!! (even though I love you all)... When more then 750 Australian homes have been lost by fire and so many innocent people have lost there lives...I have had many lovely emails from overseas wondering whether we are ok...I live over 1000 kilometres from where these horrific fires are...We are so lucky!!! May our love and prayers be with all these people and our heart felt thanks to all those amazing fire fighters and health workers who risk their lives to save others!!!!!!!

Love the scrapbook images. You always have such great photos. The different textures andcolours of the ropes.linen, buttons is fabulous.
The fires here in Victoria are so ,so sad. I just heard on the radio there are now 128 confirmed deaths. It is just unbelievable - who knows how many people will have lost their lives.

I felt exactly like you today when blogging, Cathy. Almost guilty that our lives are still OK whilst so many have been left without anything but there needs to be people who can lift each other up and that is how we need to be.
Your blog, as always, is beautiful.

I am thinking of you Cathy & and your family, and ALL Australians today. I love the spirit of Australia and I feel so sad today. Life is precious, it is the worst feeling in life to lose a loved one. For all those that have survived this fire and tragedy, you are still with us but some of you may have lost everything but your lives. I am thinking of those that did not come out alive, and those that are left behind to grieve. My heart goes out to you Australia. Take care Cathy...Cecilia

Just beautiful Cathy. I agree, it's so hard to concentrate on anything, one almost feels disrespectful blogging about everyday things. I can't imagine the devastation in the hospital burns units. Having worked in one, many years ago in the UK, and to hear the specialist say it's the worst he's ever seen...my heart just aches. A-M xx

Cathy, I can understand how you must be feeling about posting during the devestation that has taken place in Australia. But,there is a need to move forward and relieve your mind of the sadness that you must be feeling. Doing things you love is appreciating your life. We in America are so sorry for what has happened. I have been emailing your fellow Aussie blogger, Coty about this the last couple of days. I understand the devestation, myself coming from California and all the fires we had over the years, due to winds and a crazy person setting fires. My thoughts are with you all.

Love the scrapbook pages you are sharing with us this week.

We have similar posts this week, what is happening in VIC is very sad. My family has gone down to help out the wildlife volunters who have their hands full.

Working, creating, designing and a lover of textiles and so much more ... I have the same magazine pages set apart on my coffee table top. Beautiful display of fabric and threads. Probably one of the best I've come across yet. So enjoy your blog, which I only discovered a few weeks ago. ~ Rugged Country Collection
