I just love mirrors and I know I have posted about them before but as my cottage is so tiny it is really good to use mirrors to make a space feel larger....I love using old recycled frames, in the case above my hubby made this from old boards that we needed to replace on the side of house....It still has the original old paint on it and then I have white washed over the top of it!!!! The one on my new shelf I paid $10 for at a swap meet!!!

Mirrors are a great expander of space, aren't they? I have them all over my tiny house, too - light just bounces all over!
your frames are fantastic :)

I love mirrors too, and for the same reason. They make my smallish home look larger, and together with the chandelier and candles, they reflect such romantic light.

Mirrors add so much depth to a room.
Yours are lovely.

A lovely post Cathy & you really have put your mirrors to wonderful use. This has reminded me to get a wriggle on & give an old one of ours a make-over. I've got the perfect spot for it in our newly renovated guest room. The walls are somewhat blank at the moment, so this will be a good start.

Love mirrors too, especially white and shabby ones! And if I found any different... I promptly paint ad sand it! Voilà!
Yours are just gorgeous, Cathy!

Ah yes, I'm mad about mirrors too. If only I had more walls!
Yours were such fabulous bargains too, so that makes them even better!
i love the simplicity of mirrors and i love how they capture light & can make a space seem brighter.
i love that top image especially.
infact, you inspired me...until i can purchase a cube soap,i placed a little stand with some yummy soap by my kitchen sink!
love to you
Yes a mirror beautiful to capture light but to me they have always been a little magical, as a little girl I would try to peep at them unseen, to try and see if my reflection would be there, to see if I could catch the mirror out..........I especially like the wooden one made from your panels.

It is amazing how many of us have an addiction to mirrors!! At least it is a harmless addiction. The mirror made from your house walls is fabulous - love the wash over it.

Mirrors are my true love to Cathy, xv
Jut lovely! Your photos are always so beautifully peaceful and serene - pure pleasure!
I too have a "thing" for mirrors...especially the old ones that are losing their silver...love that! Your photos are so warm and beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
At first i just have to agree with you about things becoming trivial in comparison to the tragedies australians have gone through lately...
It makes me ever more grateful that we can have a home that we really love, and that we are all alive and well to enjoy it.
Our house is not that big either, so I also find mirrors really do the trick of transporting the light...
The one you have, made of old boards, must be especially precious to you, since it has a history! It's full of rustic charm!
hugs, ingela
Those are great mirrors. I keep going to charity shops hoping to find a bargain, or a frame I can paint or something - but there is never anything!
Your mirrors are fabulous Cathy.
I just love seeing pictures of your beautiful home!! Thank you for sharing and for inspiring us.

Even though I have only been following your blog for a short time, I had also wondered about you, and hoped you were far from the fires. I am releived to see your posts! I love your mirrors and your scrapbooks! The heart shaped charm on your shop blog! HOW you manage to tape and solder such a curvy shape I DO NOT KNOW! I am well aware it is not as easy as you make it look!
